Join us on Thursday, February 28th, 2013 at Ryan's Village Pizza in Cocoa Village for our second meetup of the month.
The topics have not yet been decided, but there have been several suggestions posted in other threads. Let's consolidate all potential topics in this thread and discuss here so that nothing falls through the cracks. Potential topics include:
I'd love to take a few minutes at the next meetup to plan out the topics for the next few meetups. This is a great opportunity for people to start thinking about presenting at Florida DrupalCamp in April, and practicing a presentation at a local meetup is a great way to prepare...
Thanks,
-mike

Broward Meetup (second Wednesday of the month)
Wednesday, February 13th, 2013 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Dunkin' Donuts - 9170 State Road 84 (south side of I-595 between Nob Hill and Pine Island) Davie, FL 33324 USA
http://browarddrupal.org/gmaplocation
The topic this month is Broward Drupal Showcase and Showoff.
It's time to step up and showoff your works. Have a project that makes you proud? Have a site that rocks so hard that it just has to be showed off? Have a site that needs just the last little bit of love to be a show stopper but you need a drop of help? Did you use a concept presented one of our meetups in a real world site? Bring it on and let's see whatcha got!
After the presentation, we will leave time to answer your questions.
If you want to participate virtually, send me a Skype connect request to hectoriribarne. I will initiate the Skype call shortly after 7pm.

Orlando does not currently have a regular monthly meetup, but we could if a few people step up. With December, February, and DrupalCamp in April, we are at least on a bi-monthly schedule.
Nobody else has offered to pick a time and place for the Drupal meetup - one of our members, Tyme, got in touch with a Valencia teacher named Rob McCaffrey, who has reserved a room on the East Campus, Building 1, room 345 (on Econ Trail between Colonial Dr and the 408). At our last meetup we discussed possibly having meetups on the 3rd Monday, but Rob was not available this week.
I picked a location and a date... would anyone care to suggest a topic?
I'd love for someone to demonstrate SASS... any takers?
In a pinch, we can demonstrate how Urban ReThink will be taking money for our events using Entity Registrations and Drupal Commerce.
The meetup is in building 1, room 345. Here is a map:

I created this project as a place where people can discover new modules with descriptions explaining exactly what the module does in simple terms. Whenever possible, ModuleNotes will include demos, tutorials, and screencasts collected from around the web or specifically produced for ModuleNotes.

During last year's Florida DrupalCamp, we built three websites for three non-profit Central Florida based agencies.
I'd like to establish a committee for this year's event where we will outline what we will do, how we will do it, and who we will do it for.
If you'd like to join this year's Coding for a Cause Committee, please leave a comment here.
I am thinking that sometime next week we should have a quick initial call around twenty minutes long just to group up and get things organized.
... we need some designs for these items. Because the community was very helpful in the way of brainstorming and voting on community provided designs for a FL Drupal logo, I'd like to open the design and ideas for a design to the community.
T-shirts: We need something similar to each previous FLDC shirt: the Camp logo, which is the Drupal Diver, the title, date and venue. Usually, this fits the design already laid out by the camp's website [ preview: http://herchel.dropmark.com/100988/1448129 ]. The most important part of the shirt is always the back of it - at least for FLDC - it's where all the sponsors are listed. Last year and the year previous we used a similar layout to display the various sponsors for the camp [ http://d.pr/i/Aoyf ] and the year previous (2010?) we just had a simple tag-cloud style representation [http://d.pr/i/Y5hi].
Swag Bags: this is a simple, monochromatic design that should be easily read/visible from a distance. We'll probably have the same biodegradable mesh bags as usual, but probably in blue this year, to match the overall branding.
I can't wait to see all the great ideas. If anyone needs any guidance or assistance, leave a comment, send me a message via the private contact form, or simply send me an email.
Thanks,

About Drupal Coworking Friday:
- Date: Last Friday of each month
- Focused on Drupal Professionals (freelance, fulltime, part time, in office, home, etc.)
- This is not a meetup, code-sprint, BoF or presentation
- Attendees would still do their regular work/calls/etc
- Other Drupal folks would be there to talk to, collaborate, advise (and likewise for the attendee)
- Ideally, an entire section of the space will be dedicated for Drupal professionals

Happy anniversary. Its our 1-year anniversary of the DrupalJax group. We will continue our series on building your site with Drupal. In January we went over setting up your local dev environment. This month we'll look at installing your site and what to do once you have Drupal installed. What are the top modules you'll want to immediately install and how can you start customizing your site.
We'll also feature a module roundtable. Come prepared with what module you have found useful that most people haven't heard about yet.
There will be cake this month to celebrate the 1-year anniversary but we are looking for a location so please let me or Jitesh know if you have space for us this month.

I've recently started learning about how to setup a multi-site drupal web page.
I am working on a web site for a national veterans organization. The question has come us asking if the different states can be part of the site. The national site name would be SOA.COM. The Florida State site would be either FL.SOA.COM or SOA.COM/FL - probably the first.
At this point, I do not have a question about how to set it up, but the practicality of this approach.
The idea is we would share the code across all fourteen sites, but we would NOT share data. This means that I would have 14 different databases, with 14 different set users, and 14 different administrators (plus the master admin for all sites).
The idea is, by using the multi-site capabilities I would reduce my software maintenance. However, this means that I would have to upgrade all 14 sites at the same time. Which means I have the opportunity to break all 14 sites at the same time if the upgrade causes any problems (of course this would never happen).
From what I've read, there are also some potential security issues where one of the administrators could gain access to data in the other sites.
I like the idea of 14 different site because it resolves the security issues and I can only break one site at time. However, the mere thought of having to maintain the software on 14 sites sounds is causing me to have nightmares. Fortunately, 13 of these sites will be using base modules with little or no custom code.
So my question is: While saving time on the software maintenance sounds like a great idea and time saver, is this a practical approach in the real world?
Or are there better approaches?
Thanks,
Hi everyone, I'm a newbie to Drupal, Quickstart, Drush, SSH and VB. However with some help I was able to install VB and quickstart. I would like to import our existing Drupal site into quickstart to work on it. The site is hosted with GoDaddy. I have enabled SSH.
What are the steps to import the site into quickstart / VB?
Your guidance would be deeply appreciated.

I had been developing a site and just came back to it after 2 months
I added a new Content Type
It does not show up in the Add Content Menu.
Drupal 7
There seems no reason for this. The last content type I added 2 months ago showed up immediately.
What shoud I be looking for to make this happen.. Lists on drupal refer to the problem, but I do not see a solution.
I was thinking duplicate machine names but that is not the case. I add_2 just to make sure and this did nothing.
Enabled it under - admin and navigation menus nothing -so reverted.
Any help to get this fixed I would appreciate.
Thanks
Cheryl
